The strike was taking place at the shipyards, a major employer on the peninsula, because of austerity measured being imposed my the Italian government. The workers were not impressed.<\/p>\n<p>Our tour guide, Paolo, did his best to figure out what to do, and what we got was Paolo&#8217;s tour of the peninsula, where we saw the places he would show people who cam to visit him. It wasn&#8217;t what we expected, but it was a great day.<\/p>\n<p>This photo of Stan was taken while we were trying to figure out what came next. The wait did involved gelato.
